Birdland All Stars

Miles arrives in Paris for the first time since 1949 as a member of the Birdland All Stars for a month-long tour of Western Europe; with him are Lester Young, Bud Powell, and the Modern Jazz Quartet. Besides reuniting with Juliette Greco, the tour allows Miles to meet two French musicians—pianist Rene Urtreger and bassist Pierre Michelot—with whom he would perform and record again.
