‘Workin’ With The Miles Davis Quintet’ Reissued On 180-Gram Vinyl April 28

ORIGINAL JAZZ CLASSICS is back! The acclaimed reissue series — first launched in 1982 under Fantasy Records — released 850+ jazz albums over the course of three decades, making titles from legendary labels like Prestige, Riverside, Contemporary, Galaxy, and Jazzland more widely available to both seasoned jazz aficionados and new listeners. We’re thrilled to welcome the next era of OJC with a committed focus on audiophile-quality sound with two classic albums: WORKIN’ WITH THE MILES DAVIS QUINTET and THELONIOUS MONK WITH JOHN COLTRANE, available April 28 and May 26, respectively.

WORKIN’ was recorded during Miles Davis’ fruitful Prestige sessions in 1960, and features Davis alongside the members of his “First Great Quintet”: Red Garland, Paul Chambers, Philly Joe Jones, and John Coltrane. THELONIOUS MONK WITH JOHN COLTRANE — considered one of the greatest collaborations of all time — was recorded in 1957 and marks one of the few times the jazz greats recorded together. Together, these two albums include some of the most beloved jazz recordings of all time.

Both reissues have been cut from the original master tapes (AAA) by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio, pressed on 180-gram vinyl at RTI, and housed in a replica of their original tip-on jackets. Both titles will also be reissued digitally in 192/24 HD audio.
