Starting today, we are ushering in month-long themes or “issues” centered on exceptional, challenging and thought-provoking moments and movements in jazz. At the heart of our creative energies is an insistence and belief that readers and viewers want and actually crave to delve deeper, understand something from a variety of different angles, and sit with an idea, a motif or a theme to fully grasp its weight, complexity, and historical context.
