NEW CHICAGO FESTIVAL CELEBRATED 85TH BIRTHDAY OF JAZZ ICON MILES DAVIS WITH MILES DAVIS FESTIVAL

(CHICAGO, IL) — Internationally renowned music icon Miles Davis, widely recognized as one of the most influential musicians in the history of jazz, was recently celebrated with a four-month, citywide festival in Chicago which ran through April 16. The Miles Davis Festival was organized by the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University and included a sprawling line-up of concerts, club dates and a world premiere dance performance, in paying homage to the 85th birthday of Davis, who was born in Alton, IL.

The recent festival highlights included the Bitches Brew 40th Anniversary Band, which performed to a Sold-Out, Standing Room Only crowd at Martyrs. The impressive line-up featured classic Miles Davis alumni along with his nephew, Vince Wilburn, Jr. of Miles Davis Properties, LLC on drums and renowned turntablist DJ Logic.
