MILES DAVIS AT NEWPORT 1955-1975: THE BOOTLEG SERIES VOL. 4 RECEIVES NAACP IMAGE AWARD NOMINATION IN THE “OUTSTANDING JAZZ ALBUM” CATEGORY

Music icon Miles Davis has been recognized with an NAACP Image Award nomination in the “Outstanding Jazz Album” category for Miles Davis At Newport 1955-1975: The Bootleg Series Vol. 4.

The critically acclaimed work, which celebrates the 60th anniversary of Miles’ Newport Jazz debut, features a four-CD box set tracking his ascendance over eight live festival performances in Newport, spanning 20 years, in New York, Berlin and Switzerland. This year, Newport Jazz celebrated Davis and his relationship with the festival and its founder, George Wein, with musical tributes and panel discussions.

“Love to The Chief and congratulations to all the nominees,” says Erin Davis, Cheryl Davis and Vince Wilburn, Jr. from the Miles Davis Estate.

The 47th NAACP Image Awards will air live on February 5 at 9 p.m. ET on TV One.
