This historic panel celebrates the 40th Anniversary of Miles Davis’ jazz-funk-rock-fusion masterpiece, ranked as one of Rolling Stone’s “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.” The panel features iconic Bitches Brew musicians along with the immediate family of Miles Davis, who will demonstrate how Miles seamlessly fuses the classic with the contemporary — and why he continues to generate so much attention nearly two decades after his passing

COMMENTS: Internationally renowned icon Miles Davis is one of the most innovative, influential and respected figures in the history of music.

The landmark album Bitches Brew marks one of many times that Miles Davis changed music. It is often heralded as a cornerstone of fusion, but Miles never paid much attention to labels. Obviously intrigued by rock instrumentation, this brooding masterpiece showcases the man with the horn doing what he did best, stretching boundaries and confounding expectations. Hear how the music evolved during the sessions and in the mixing and editing process. Explore this pivotal moment in Miles’ discography.
